A slightly unusual and unexpected work trip recently took us abroad. We found ourselves in the Alps in Saalbach, for an Austrian chalet assessment where the last of the season’s snow was rapidly melting away. 🏔
A UK-based winter sports company recently asked us to look at two of their ski chalet projects. Each chalet was substantial, boasting around 12 bedrooms plus public areas – almost like mini hotels. The task was to provide an initial Austrian Chalet Assessment, focusing on potential upgrades for these properties.
The winter sports company invests quite significant sums of money into their properties annually, and we were asked to help develop a plan for their Austrian locations. The hope was to implement a sort of retrofit project for each chalet, although it seemed likely these would be shallow retrofit projects at most.
Over a few days, we thoroughly inspected all the rooms, taking loads of photos, and making detailed notes as part of this chalet assessment. Keep an eye out for updates to see how these projects develop – it’s shaping up to be quite interesting!
If you’re curious about how we managed to get invited to Austria to look at these chalets, let us know and we’ll create a new post detailing how it all came about. It’s probably not what you think!
Oh yeah, we even managed to get a few runs in on the slopes while there 😃. The spring snow was pretty good, a bit higher up!
...start your project, or anything in between - please do get in touch and we can kick things off with a chat.
