At Ikonografik Design, we believe in taking action on the climate crisis.  Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a core value that guides our company’s approach to architecture and operations. We are actively building a low-impact future through the work we produce. We understand that the journey to true sustainability is ongoing, and we’re committed to continuously improving our practices. 

Sustainability Goals 

We have several sustainability goals that we are aiming for and these include: 

• Designing and constructing buildings with minimal environmental and social impact. 

• Operating a business with a low environmental footprint. 

• Collaborating with like-minded clients, partners, and suppliers. 

• Making decisions that prioritize positive long-term impacts on society and the environment. 

• Becoming a Certified B Corp and achieving carbon neutrality [or even carbon negativity]. 

• Establishing a clear roadmap for achieving these goals.

Our journey so far 

Ikonografik Design’s director, Nathan Oliver, recognised the environmental impact of buildings early in his career. His studies in the 1990s highlighted the importance of energy conservation and embodied energy – issues that remain relevant today. Despite challenges in promoting low-energy design, Nathan persisted and qualified as a Chartered Environmentalist in 2009. 

Since establishing Ikonografik Design in 2011, Nathan has made low-energy design a cornerstone of the company’s approach. We prioritise education and collaboration, working with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure energy-efficient solutions throughout the design and construction process. This is key in building a low-impact future through the work of Ikonografik design.
