First Floor extension on top of an old Ground Floor single storey extension to create extra bedrooms above. The existing rooms were not laid out very efficiently, without flow and defined purpose, so the entire Ground Floor was also remodelled. This provided an improved layout with a large open plan Kitchen / Diner, that was flipped around and runs the entire length of the house. Space was also reconfigured to fit in a new separate Dining Room and a new downstairs Toilet.
The Master Bedroom was altered to create a new En-suite with extra storage. Externally, the new rear roof has been split in two so the top doesn’t stick above the existing roof. A challenging scheme as the old extension was not structurally strong enough to take the new weight above. Specialist metal screw piles had to be used to underpin / reinforce the existing concrete slab, so it was strong enough + the new walls taken full height down to floor level so all walls matched in.
