Cellar Conversion to create a new commercial Kitchen + Shower Room + Laundry Room + upgraded ventilation provision. Complicated planning and conservation requirements as the building is Grade II listed in a very prominent city centre location. Highly complex ventilation extract duct systems that needed to be fire rated + comply with the high standards of Sheffield City Council conservation team.
Worked in collaboration with the construction charity CRASH who helped co-ordinate pro-bono professional expertise, supplied free building materials and awarded cash grants. Also worked in collaboration with local artist Ben Parkin who provided bespoke interior artwork to help improve the mood.
We completed the work free of charge as we support the positive social benefit the project will have on the local community.
Sheffield newspaper The Star published an article on the project as they considered it was a story of merit.
Achieving Listed Building Consent, Planning Permission and Building Regulations approval + co-ordinating the ventilation ductwork design and installation + managing cost control when certain parts of the project were paid for and some parts were donated free of charge
