Conversion of an existing terraced house into an HMO [House in Multiple Occupation] where the building is split into smaller separate rented units with shared communal spaces. Planning Permission was not required, the work was completed under Permitted Development rights. The client was a property development company who completed the work as part of an investment portfolio.
Aimed at young professionals, boutique interiors and creative adaptations were delivered to provide 5 separate bedrooms, each with an En-suite Bathroom. Stringent technical and fire safety requirements needed to be overcome to obtain Building Regulations approval and an HMO License.
Appropriate approvals from various different departments of the local authority and fire safety
“Nathan came on board with the project at a moment’s notice and was very accommodating with his time. We engaged Nathan to prepare the architectural design and drawings for the conversion of a single dwelling house to an HMO with 5 En-suite bathrooms. He also organised and managed the Structural Engineer and independent building control company. He worked well with my project manager and demonstrated a professional approach at all times. I highly recommend Nathan’s services.
I honestly haven’t found another architect with whom I have as much faith in! You prepare very good drawings, have a high level of technical knowledge and you’re also very prompt with communications.”
