Chance of a lifetime

It's not often we get the chance to work on a relatively famous building, even if it's slightly unknown. Especially a building that featured in my dissertation back in 1997, the dissertation was concerned with limits to energy conservation in buildings. The building in question is Woodhouse Health Centre, originally designed by Brenda and Robert Vale. It was built in the late 1980's and featured ground breaking [at the time] passive energy saving technologies, the high levels of insulation still exceed the current Building Regulations, over 20 years later. The actual heat required and running costs of the building are still remarkably low.

Ikonografik were pleased to be appointed to design a new extension and to re-fit part of the old building, watch this space for updates. More information can be found here.
